  • I seldom read “religious poetry.” Most of the time it is simply “treacle” with a rhyme scheme: obvious and simplistic. I find myself in “critic-mode,” unable or unwilling to allow it to work its “magic” on me. Good religious poetry is both personal and painful, as the poet works through their own experience of God. “With Me: A Poetic Expression of God’s Faithfulness,” by Carolyn Staffieri, on the other hand is a powerful, personal exploration of her relationship with God. Her journey with epilepsy is clearly visible on the page, but it is not off-putting. Christians, if they are honest with themselves and God, oftentimes have a painful, “on- again/off again” relationship with God. Carolyn shares with us her faith-filled relationship thus enabling each of us to find ourselves in her words. With Me is a book which will give you hope and strength, too! It is well worth your time!

Meet Carolyn

A more than 30 year battle with epilepsy had stolen plans for my life. God gave back what I thought was lost through this gift of poetry. Epilepsy is only a small fraction of my story. My  faith in God has provided the foundation to rejoice in hope, for whatever path I have been given.
